ASSIGNMENT 1

Famous Architect’s Building Materials Application: Architectural and Structural

JAPAN NATIONAL STADIUM by Kengo Kuma

INFOGRAPHIC POSTER

REFLECTION

This assignment has given me a good understanding of materials that are used in real life buildings. Due to the Tokyo Olympics happening recently, I thought it was interesting to analyse the Japan National Stadium by Kengo Kuma. The building philosophy focuses on environmentally friendly materials. With this knowledge, I'm able to apply similar materials to my designs in the future to help reduce carbon footprint. It was also interesting to research on specific material types and finishing which have their specific purposes and advantages.
